Roles and privileges
Roles are a set of privileges that give access to certain functionalities. Each role is linked to a domain (see section: Domains). The root domain has defined roles, which are then automatically inherited when each sub-domain is created.
A user can have one or more roles. If a user has more than one role for the same domain, the interface will display the privileges of all roles.
You can create your own roles and customize their privileges. However, the most common roles are:
The learner can take e-learning, blended and video training courses, be assessed at the end of each course, make registration requests and access social learning.
The Manager is responsible for a team of employees, and can monitor their progress on all the training courses they attend. They can also request registrations for their team.
The tutor is scheduled for a training session and can follow the progress of the employees registered for it.
The administrator has access to all platform administration parameters.
Assign a role to a user
Prerequisites
You must be able to access a user's file.
Procedure
From a user's profile, open the Roles tab.
A list of the roles assigned to the user is displayed.
Click on Add role.
A new line is added to the table with the user's name, home domain and a drop-down list of available roles.
Select the role you wish to assign from the drop-down list.
Click on the icon to save.
A confirmation message appears on the screen.
Modify a user's role
Prerequisites
You must be able to access a user's file.
The user must have at least one role assigned.
Procedure
From a user's profile, open the Role tab.
A list of the role(s) assigned to the user appears.
Click on to the right of the role.
The role can now be modified.
Select the new role from the drop-down list.
Once the role has been selected, click on .
A confirmation message appears on the screen.
Delete user role
Prerequisites
You must be able to access a user's file.
The user must have at least one role assigned.
Procedure
From a user's profile, open the Role tab.
A list of the role(s) assigned to the user appears.
Click on to the right of the role you wish to delete.
A confirmation message appears on the screen.
