Resource categories

Resource categories are a hierarchical classification system for resources. Each digital resource can be associated with one or more resource categories.

Create a resource category

Procedure

1. From the sidebar, open the Studio.

2. Click on Resource categories.

   The list of available resource categories will open.

3. Click on the New button.

   If a resource category is already open, the new one will be created inside it. You can move it after creation by dragging it to the desired location.

4. Fill in the subject details.

5. Click on the Save button.

Verification

A confirmation message will appear on the screen.

View a resource category's details

Procedure

1. From the sidebar, open the Studio.

2. Click on Resource categories.

   The list of available resource categories will open.

3. Select the desired resource category from the hierarchy.

   The resource category details will appear on the right side of the hierarchy.

Edit a resource category

Procedure

1. From the sidebar, open the Studio.

2. Click on Resource categories.

   The list of available resource categories will open.

3. Select the desired resource category from the hierarchy.

   The resource category details will appear on the right side of the hierarchy.

4. Edit the desired information.

5. Click on Save.

Verification

A confirmation message will appear on the screen.

Delete a resource category

Procedure

1. From the sidebar, open the Studio.

2. Click on Resource categories.

   The list of available resource categories will open.

3. Select the desired resource category from the hierarchy.

   The resource category details will appear on the right side of the hierarchy.

4. Click on the Delete button.

Verification

A confirmation message will appear on the screen and the resource category will no longer appear in the hierarchy.

Warning

Resources assigned to the deleted resource category will no longer reference it. Therefore, it will no longer be possible to search for them via this resource category.
