Manage language resources

Open Settings > Manage language resource

The language resource management page displays the list of all available languages, whether they are standard languages or custom languages, a separator allows you to distinguish between these 2 types of language :

By default, there are no custom languages.

Export translations from a language

Open Settings > Manage language resource

• In terms of standard languages, in the context menu of a line, a link allows you to start generating the language export in a " .xlsx " file and to download this file.

• The generation of the file can take several tens of seconds, at the end a link allows you to open the file.

• The generated Excel file has several sheets, one per module (some modules are technical and not business).

• Note that only licensed modules with an active license are added.

• Each sheet has 5 columns :

  • Value xx-XX : the value in the language that was exported ("en-GB", "fr-FR").

  • Translation : empty column in which you will have to enter the desired translation.

  • Key : key to the translation, required for import.

  • File : Information about the translation file, required for the import.

  • Module : reminder of the name of the translation module, necessary for import.

Add a custom language

Open Settings > System > Manage language resource

Procedure

• A New Language button opens a pop-in asking you to enter the name of the new language (multilingual field) and the associated culture code. Please note that this information can no longer be modified afterwards, especially the culture code which is a substantial piece of information (the name can possibly be modified via the translation modification page).

• There is a finite number of customisable languages, if this number is reached, the add button is no longer offered.

• Technical information : This new language will be associated with one of the X customisable values in the " Syfadis. Framework. Web. Language ".

Example of adding a " Danish " language with a culture code " da-DK " :

• After validation, this new language is displayed in the list of languages, in the default disabled status.

Import translations

1. To import the translations, open Settings > System > Manage language resource and click on the kebab menu next to the language you want to import translations for.

2. You must use an Excel file with the extension " .xlsx ", in the same format as the export file described above.

3. To import this file, you need to use the link in the context menu in the list of custom languages. Click on the kebab menu and select Import translations.

   1. Please note that this operation can take a long time, depending on the number of translations contained in the file, the user is asked for confirmation.

4. Once this operation has been confirmed, the import is launched, it takes place in 2 steps : reading the file and then inserting or updating the translations. This is done as part of an asynchronous task (like other imports), the user is redirected to the progress page of that task.

5. At the end of the task, the language management page is reopened with a success message:

   • Following this import, the language can be activated, and then becomes available in the language selection list.

Enable/disable a language

Languages can be enabled or disabled, whether standard or custom, via a link in the context menu of the list.

This feature is based on the existing configuration setting for enabling languages, which can be located by domain, so it's best to go to the root domain for it to have a global impact.

Delete a language

It is possible to delete a custom language, if it is not the current language, by means of a link in the context menu of the list.

Deleting a language deletes translations of that language.

Decorrelation of application and business languages

Be able to create resources and training in languages different from those of the Syfadis license you have contracted.

The resource language is the language that defines the languages available to create resources or courses

Open Settings > Manage language resource

Procedure

Click on Add a new resource language and fill in the requested information. You must include the culture code associated with this language. For example, da-DK for Danish.

• When creating a course or resource, it is possible to add a different language than those present in Syfadis language packages.

This evolution has been developed to allow users to create training and resources in languages other than those of the app.

The user then enters the name of the language as well as its culture code.
