Create a playlist

A playlist is a classic list of content that is not subject to any scheduling or progression rules.

To create a new playlist, go to the Playlist page.

  1. In the Playlists tab, click on the Create button. A menu appears asking the administrator to select the type of list to be created. Select New Playlist.

  1. Complete these information fields to describe the playlist:

  • Name (mandatory field): The name that the administrator wishes to give to the playlist.

  • Description (mandatory field): A short sentence describing the playlist.

  • Cost: The total cost of the playlist.

  • Currency: The currency in which the cost of the path is denominated.

  • Media type: Drop-down list in which the administrator can define the type of media contained in the playlist. This will later function as a visual indicator for the learner.

  • Topic: Selection of a subject from a predefined list.

  • Trainer: Selection of a trainer user from the playlist.

  • Theme: Allows you to define the dominant theme of the playlist.

  1. When all the information fields are complete, define the playlist visibility options.

Create playlist

  • Public (accessible to all): Define whether the indexed content is searchable for all learners.

  • Filter visibility to groups: Restrict the visibility of the playlist to predefined groups

  • Language: Set the language of the playlist.

  • Send registration emails: Trigger the sending of an email when learners register for the playlist.

  1. Once all the information has been filled in, the administrator can create the playlist by clicking on the Create button at the bottom of the page. The playlist is then created, and the administrator is redirected to its enhancement page.


Enhance a playlist

The playlist enhancement page consists of 3 tabs:

  • Content: Add content to the playlist.

  • Registrations: Add learners to the playlist.

  • Settings: Change the playlist's metadata and visibility options.

From this page, you can use the + button to create content and organise the content playlist in 3 ways:

  • Create new content from an external URL or by importing a new file (supported formats: MP4 video, SCORM file or PDF).

  • Import content that already exists in the catalogue.

  • Create a separator to organise the playlist.

Add playlist content

The add content page displays a table listing all the content in a playlist. This table is made up of 8 columns:

  • Order number: The order in which the content should be read.

  • Thumbnail: The thumbnail linked to the content.

  • Title: Content title.

  • Description: A brief description of the content.

  • Media type: Video, Audio, Document...

  • Topic: Displays the subject of the content.

  • Usages: Displays the number of views and unique views. The See more button redirects you to the content statistics page.

  • Actions: This button is used to modify or share content, and to display registered learners.

Add playlist content

To add content:

  1. Click on the + button above or below the content table.

  2. When selecting the type of content, choose New content. You will then be redirected to the page for creating new content. The content creation page is divided into 3 parts:

  • Content: allows you to add content by importing it either from an external source (YouTube, Google, FTP, etc.) using the URL of the content, or from your computer.

  • Description: allows you to add content metadata:

  • Name: name of the content.

  • Description: a short sentence describing the content.

  • Media type: Drop-down list in which the administrator can define the type of content. This will later function as a visual indicator for the learner.

  • Topic: Selection of a Topic from a pre-defined list. By default, the content inherits the Topic defined in the playlist.

  • Duration: Length of content expressed in minutes.

  • Cost: Content cost.

  • Currency: The currency in which the content is priced.

  • Provider: Selection of content supplier.

  • Theme: Allows you to define the dominant theme of the content.

  • Options: Used to define a condition for triggering content. There are 3 types of condition:

    • Beacon

    • Barcode

    • QR code

  1. When all the fields have been completed, click on the Submit button. When content is added, the administrator is redirected to the content modification page.

  1. Clicking on the Back button to return to the playlist to view the content and see that the new addition has been added after the previous content.

Modify playlist contents

To modify the content of a playlist, search for it from the playlist management page:

  1. From the administration home page, click on the Playlists button in the menu on the left of the page.

  1. Search for the playlist to be modified using the search bar

  1. Use the drop-down menu at the end of the playlist line and select Edit.

  1. Once you are in the playlist editing page, the contents will appear. Click on the Action button and then Edit.

In addition to the original metadata, you can modify 3 new metadata that were not available when the content was created:

  • Skills: This metadata will enable a skill and an associated level to be attached to this content, so that it can be offered to learners with the chosen skill.

  • Tags: A tag is a keyword assigned to content to describe and categorise it.

  • Survey: Allows you to add a survey linked to the content to assign it an NPS (Net Promoter Score)

To delete content from a playlist, go to the edit page for the content to modify and click on the Delete button.

Search for a playlist in the playlist management page:

  1. From the administration home page, click on the Playlists button in the menu on the left of the page.

  1. To delete a playlist, go to the Parameters tab on the playlist editing page and click on the Delete button.

  1. You are then redirected to a delete confirmation page. Confirm the action by clicking on the Delete button again or cancel by clicking on the Cancel button.
